Lab Crowns
This is the traditional way that crowns are made. An impression of the prepared tooth is taken before a temporary crown is made. The impressions are sent to a lab, where models are fabricated, and an experienced lab technician will fabricate your crown. The Doctor will utilize lab fabricated crowns for particular situations, and choose the proper material for the desired outcome. Lab crowns can be all ceramic, porcelain fused to high noble metals, or gold. Usually, the all ceramic crowns are used in the front, as they are the most esthetic crowns available. Porcelain fused to metal crowns are used for esthetics and their strength. All gold crowns are used on the back teeth when there is not enough thickness for the other crowns, as they can be thin and still be very strong.

We are proud to offer an array of esthetic crowns, that we painstakingly match to your other teeth. When a difficult match presents itself, we will even have you go to the lab where the crowns are fabricated to have a custom shade match done with the technician who will make your tooth! We work with a highly qualified local lab to ensure the best possible results.
